One of the things I get asked a lot is how to get pagination working when you have a ‘featured post‘ section on the homepage. Many of the ‘premium‘ WP themes out there have this featured post box, like a sticky post that stays there ’till you replace it with another one.

If you have been reading this blog or one my previous blogs or have been following me on Twitter for a while, you surely know I’m a self-taught web-designer. I didn’t study design, arts, coding or whatever, and I never attended CSS 101 in college. Instead, I read. A lot!

I’ve always liked minimalism! Little or no use of images and a strong focus on the typography and on the content instead of graphical elements always did the trick for me. Of course I love a well-crafted website that makes good use of various graphical elements like characters/avatars, buttons, icons and others.

If you’ve been following my updates on Twitter recently you probably already know about a new site I launched about 2 weeks ago called ‘Turn This Thing Off‘.
We look at the current trends, break them when we can, and we try our best to make our work look great. But, should you be using these ’stripe generator’ and ‘reflection logo’ services and tools? Is it a good idea? Didn’t think so!
