By now I’m sure you’ve figured out that I love minimalist designs. I’ve featured many simple and minimalist websites on Spyre Studios before but this time I wanted to feature sites that not only have a minimalist layout but that also use very little colors.
Building websites by hand with all html/css pages was fine a couple years ago, but now there are tons of Content Management Systems out there that make our jobs as developers and publishers SO much easier! Some might seem really familiar and others might be new to you. We think they all deserve some attention. Why not test drive a few of them?
It’s time to move on to some more in depth and practical techniques. jQuery isn’t just for hiding and showing content as we saw in the first part of our series, it can also perform many powerful tasks for us with just a few lines of code.

It’s always nice to see your work in a book or a magazine! Some of you may know that I launched and used to run FreelanceFolder, a popular freelancing blog which I have now sold. I admit it, I’m a huge Apple fan! And being a web-designer I spend quite some time in front of the computer. I’ve always loved checking out cool wallpapers and even more when they’re Apple-themed.
