While building a site for a client I had to figure out the best way to display additional navigation in a horizontal menu (and not make it look like it’s 1999 again), so I went ahead and started looking for some inspiration. If you’ve been following me on Twitter or this blog in the past couple months I’m sure you’ve noticed that I had a bad case of redesign-itis… I must have redesigned SpyreStudios something like 3 or 4 times in the last 6 months. Maybe more. You see, I can’t even keep track of how many times I did it. Ouch!

Dark web designs are my personal favorite so I felt it was needed for me to showcase some of the best from around the web. Not only are they creative, eye catching and interactive, but they’re truly different than what most websites look like today – with the light, clean minimal designs taking center stage lately, there’s something to be said about a killer creative website that’s dark & eye catching.

I’ve always liked playing around with jQuery and I’m sure many of you do too! In fact we’ve published some jQuery ‘getting started‘ guides here on Spyre Studios in the past. So this time I thought we’d go more in depth and I’ve hand-picked 20 awesome jQuery tutorials.

There are a ton of awesome web design trends going around. I call them awesome – you may call them oversaturated and ‘old school’ – however, I feel that any design trend out there has its place in the web design community and this one is a trend that I hope NEVER goes away.
