I am always looking into ways of making the (often time-consuming and painful) tasks of billing and invoicing easier and quicker. Guess what? Billings 3 helps me do just that! I’ve been using it for some time now and I’m really liking it. So much that we’ve partnered up to do a giveaway here on SpyreStudios!
The cool folks at Marketcircle, the creators of Billings 3, are giving away licenses to 3 lucky winners. Details on how to enter the contest are in the post! :)

More and more we see people using horizontal sliding panels on their websites. And they usually look very nice! Some will put a contact or login form in there, others will put some information about them and their website, or even things like a tag cloud or social networking buttons.
Horizontal sliding panels are great for many situations, but like everything else, they’re not always ideal. It depends on the project.

Over the past couple month/years we’ve seen grungy-looking websites and designs popping all over the place (I much prefer that over the glossy web 2.0 look). Of course using patterns and textured backgrounds can help give a website a dirty and grungy feel, but let’s not forget about typography. While most of the fonts on this list can’t really be used for website copy and articles, they can certainly be used for logos and headings or other types of graphics.

I love typography! And good for us type lovers, it’s very difficult to design something without it. Posters are no exception. So I thought I’d go find some typographic posters that are both vintage and grungy looking. I hope you enjoy them. Please share your thoughts in the comment section!

It’s no secret that all of us here at SpyreStudios like left aligned website designs (I mean, look at SpyreStudios :)) Yes, at one point in time the left aligned websites were all we had, but then people found out about CSS and the centered websites dominated. This post is our attempt to show that left aligning your website is not dead and can definitely be used in creative and useful ways.
Below you’ll find a group of left aligned websites that I feel showcase how cool the left aligning of websites can actually be. Let us know in the comments if you have a left aligned website or if you know of one that isn’t on the list.

I always enjoy working on new things and learn about new CMS and how they work and all. I recently connected with Cory at Surreal CMS, and I decided to write a tutorial on how to create a portfolio site and run it with Surreal CMS.
It’s pretty simple actually. In this tutorial I’ll show you how I came up with the basic design, we’ll also go through coding that layout (markup and CSS) and I’ll show you how to integrate Surreal CMS and how it can be used to run your site and your client’s sites. We’ll also go through the process of branding the CMS so that your clients see your own logo instead of the Surreal CMS logo.
