25 Creative Retro Styled Website Designs
Tweet Inspiration comes in many forms and this article is no different. We’ve seen the numerous showcases around the web for minimal web designs, dark designs and so many others that have been drug through the mud.
My goal is to make sure the showcase posts that I create are ‘out of the box‘ and something that will spark your creativity. So, in this article I am going to showcase 25 creative websites that have a retro theme. They range from the use of old-time photos to retro patterns, colors and graphic elements. I hope you enjoy it :)

I just can’t get enough of the vintage/retro look! I think it connects with a part of people that gives them a really good feeling. Excellent collection!

Great showcase. I love retro and “retro-futuristic” style websites. It makes such a nice change to find sites that stand out because they don’t fall into the usual clean/sleek Web 2.0 look. The skills to achieve that design are special too – in a sense it’s a case of going against the path of least resistance.

Real compliment to be on this list. Thanks for the link, and the mention!

I really love vintage design styles. Sometimes I get so sick of designing everything on computer and not being able to physically touch anything. The textures and worn nature of vintage designs help me feel like I’m actually part of the design process again not distant and cold in a computer lab.

Thx for sharing! All of these are excellent websites, but my personal favorite is (the now defunct) Saucer.tv, a very cool retro-themed website created back in 2000 for a Sacramento pop band. This site features great graphics, some really fun bubblegum music, and even a Pong game to entertain you while the music loads, since this site was built back in the day when most people still had dial-up, LOL.
The Saucer.tv website can still be viewed online, in its entirety, at:

in the portfolio of multi-media artist Peter McClean (who just happens to be my boyfriend & best friend). *shameless plug*

Enjoy! ^_^

I love these! Especially the Fred Perry site, the walls and the old fashioned photos… wonderful. The Dibtych too! The textures are awesome, though I couldn’t understand it since it wasn’t in English. Thanks!

There is another type of retro sites you may want to post about. Im talking about the “internet-retro” style. The sites you listed here are great but they resemble to an old reality, old objects, grunge paper, etc.
Im talking about sites that look like the first decade of internet; small resolution, no CSS, animated gifs and bullets, etc. :)

These are really beautiful sites. Every one of them uses texture as a design element. Visual texture really creates depth and sophistication without cluttering up the space. Nice selection!

One that I have always loved (and think deserves to be on this list) is the Vintage Church in Lawrence Kansas (/www.vintagelawrence.com/) designed by Leo Kempf (www.leokempf.com)
Well worth being on the list.
