Thanks for the insight. Reading through the list gave me one of those "Of course!" moments. Staring at me the whole time but I never thought it through completely. This will certainly help me think about how I want to shape my blog this year.

It probably also means I'll be back to the drawing board quicker than I expected...

Great list post! The only other type of post I can think about is a kind of "off-topic" humorous piece or quiz which can be nice from time to time.

I think this is a great post, but it's also important to mention that as a blog writer you need to come up with your own unique content! I'm starting to get to the point reading design blogs where I've "been there, done that" even if it's a new tutorial or a different list.

Try mixing it up and providing content that isn't already out there. At least, when I get my blog all set up, that's what I'm going to try to do. =)

Those are definitely the most common posts on a design blog. Sheesh, I didn't realize we were that predictable (ok yes, we are I admit). Maybe it's time we shake things up. Yes, it IS time we shake things up. Good points too.

Great post, thanks. I follow a lot of these on twitter and find that my mind gets overloaded with the lists.... I try to only click on the ones that catch my eye with an interesting topic or something I want to learn about.

There are only so many articles I can read.... are there too many of these blogs out there? Too much similar content?
