@Carolyn Yes you can do it long-hand { padding-left: 50px; padding-right: 30px; ) or shorthand { padding: 0 30px 0 50px; }

So is there a way to add padding to the left and right, but NOT the top and bottom?

You cleared up a bunch of questions, just left me with this one!
