Web-based animation has been dominated by Adobe’s Flash software for as long as most internet users can remember. However, this has changed in recent years with the advent of Microsoft’s Silverlight, a competing animation suite. While Flash is still as prevalent as ever, its younger rival has been able to one-up it in some respects.
35 Free User Interface Kits for Mobile and Web Designers
It’s great seeing so many graphic designers offering free web kits openly. Even 4 years ago you would have had a difficult time finding PSDs for a button set or iPhone user interface. Now there seems to be plenty of resources, almost overflowing! But there’s no complaints here.
As a digital artist I work with user interface kits on a regular basis. They speed up workflow and improve my knowledge of the graphic design trade. I am by no means an expert, but I have built plenty of UX designs and certainly recognize the power of teamwork. A while back we featured the Snow UI kit which offered some great scrollbars and buttons.
Well in this article I’ve added 35 of my favorite user interface kits from around the web. These include graphics for the mobile web such as Android, iPhone, and iPad devices. Additionally there are tons of resources for browser-based website designers. Check out the links below, and feel free to share your ideas in the discussion area.

32 Handy Google Chrome Extensions for Web Developers
Watching the browser wars unfold has been interesting. Mozilla Firefox was possibly the king only a few years ago, whereas now it seems Google Chrome has taken much of their market shares. For those who use Chrome it may have some bugs but ultimately runs much quicker and scales better than Firefox.
And while Mozilla has an Extensions gallery, Google has launched an extensions gallery side-by-side with Chrome. In here developers are able to create small browser extensions and tie into 3rd party APIs for some magnificent features. The installation process is simple, efficient, and leaves you begging for more.
Web developers should be especially interested in Google Chrome as they strive for perfection in browser testing. Scaling your website between the many browsers today is difficult. Luckily Chrome is one of the better software partners out there, and in celebration I’ve collection 32 extensions specifically targeted towards web developers. Install a few see what you think, and please offer any extensions you’ve personally found in the comments section!
