A new version of Angular, Angular 11, was released on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2020. The best news is that it has new features that developers are surely excited about. Although it may be an unfair comparison, Angular 11 seems to boost its defense against other CMS that web devs will surely find difficult to resist.
Being a mobile and desktop app builder, it has been continuously compared to other open-source tools and website builders. But, what features does Angular 11 have against easy-to-use and beginner-friendly CMS builders? Does it even stand a chance against other e-commerce website builders?
Developers think there is space to grow in Angular
One of the many reasons why seasoned developers like Angular is the fact that it provides that space for easy customizability. It is not as popular as other front-end frameworks. Besides, many developers still think that it is better to learn the language (JavaScript) than to learn a specific framework. However, Angular 11 does offer a lot to aid developers in easily learning not only the language but also the framework.
A complete package with everything you need
Although it is not as competitive as your typical CMS builders and other front-end frameworks, Angular does pack everything a developer might need to build an “enterprise-grade” software or application. It also is packed with tools that allow developers to maintain and update the application consistently.
‘Exportable’ Components
Angular’s Custom Elements (a recent addition) provides a way for devs to use components repeatedly for various projects. These components are browser APIs that allow developers to reusable HTML tags. The feature allows the creation of ‘exportable components’ that can be used in other applications or websites that also have JavaScript frameworks. What is more impressive about these is that they could be used across modern web browsers.
Angular 11 for various digital platforms
Unlike your regular CMS, like WordPress and Woocommerce, Angular 11 is what is considered a headless CMS. This means that it has increased flexibility and scalability. This means that data could easily adapt to various digital platforms. Data on traditional CMS websites (like WordPress) are presented via embeds and are laid out for webpage-oriented layouts. Angular 11 allows the data to be stored in a separate presentation layer which could be reprocessed by an API to match specified needs from certain devices.
In this case, Angular 11 could create an e-commerce app through a Commerce Layer and Paypal. This is a new feature Angular powered apps.
