Showcase Of 40 Website Designs Featuring Clouds And Skies

September 4, 2009 by Jon 49 Comments

Maybe it’s because we’ve had a not-so-awesome summer here in Montreal but lately I’ve been more and more interested in website designs that make good use of weather elements like clouds, skies, suns, earth, stone, etc… So I figured, why not try to find some of the best designs and start with the ones that feature clouds and skies?

You’ll notice that some of those designs use these elements very subtly while others went all in and based their designs around them. I’d love to know what you think, make sure you leave a comment below! :)

Nice collection. Not an altogether obvious design element but it has been put to good use.

Brilliant collection! I really like the idea of using the sky as a header image (I do it on my own site) because for me, sky represents the limit of our imagination: that is, we have no roof top. Thanks for sharing!

Wow great list, i love the style of these kind of sites. my favourites are definitely absolute bica, jps2606 and sej kozlov’s. Bica’s especially because it takes a slightly different angle on sky by not going down the common (lovely) blue route. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Jon, your collection is ok…..but I think I’ve seen better out there. Moreover, most of these designs look very kiddish. Anyways, I found Pojeta and Keithar better than the lot.
