Win One Year’s Subscription to Concept.vu

July 7, 2014 by Noemi

Conceptvu giveaway

Have you ever wanted to tear your hair out while managing a project? If you aren’t nodding emphatically, then you’re one of the lucky ones.

For project managers, producers, and freelance web designers/developers, managing feedback and approval can be time-consuming and exhausting. The purpose of your design gets lost in translation, clients change their minds, and version control is extremely difficult with emails flying about left, right, and center.

After years of working on client projects, we found ourselves in the same position. We discovered the review process was convoluted, ineffective, and inefficient, and we wanted to streamline it.

From this, Concept.vu was born.

Okay, so what is Concept.vu?

Tried and tested on multi-million dollar projects over three years, Concept.vu is a tool designed to simplify the feedback and approval process for anyone working on creative projects (and reduce the number of headaches for everyone).

Project managers, designers, and developers can share work with clients, including video or sound projects, site designs and web interfaces.

Clients can then make annotations on projects and leave comments; then, when everyone is happy, the client can approve it and you can have a little party to celebrate.

How’s it different from the other stuff out there?

Multimedia support: There are a few review tools out there for graphic designers, but web designers and developers don’t just work on images. There’s video, animation, graphic design, galleries, applications, UI – and about a million pages to manage. Concept.vu is perfect for web projects because project managers can upload videos, images, and sound files in one place.

Dead simple for clients: Clients often work on a different wavelength to web designers and developers but a lot of tools out there are designed for the creators, not the approvers. However, more often than not the fate of a design rests in the client’s hands, so Concept.vu is intuitive and straightforward to use. Any client can pick it up and start using it straight away – which means they can focus on approving the project.

Supports multiple browsers: Unfortunately for all of us, not everyone is using Firefox or Chrome. A lot of big clients or organisations are still on IE8 and there’s nothing worse than trying to share web designs when you’re using completely different browsers. Concept.vu works on Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and IE8+, so you don’t need to worry about the technical compatability.

Version control: In web development, one of the hardest things to do is keep track of what pages need redesigning and which version you and your client are currently working from. Concept.vu has version control so you can keep up to date with the current project version and peek back to previous versions as well.

Here’s a short video to show you more.
